I named this pattern as heliantus (in Latin) because a sunflower had inspired me. I also wanted to show support for Ukraine with yarn colors. You can use any color you like,
This pattern contains instructions written in standard American crochet terminology, in English language. No other versions of the pattern are available (no graphs, videos or translations.)
Size: 25 cm
Yarn: Rüya Etamin (20 gr) / this is a light fingering kind of a thread.
Hook: 2.1 mm
Accessories: Scissor, hook, yarn & a needle (or a lighter)
STITCHES USED (US)
Not all stitches wiil be used.
mr – magic ring
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
slst – slip stitch
st – stitch
chsp – chain space
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
dc2tog – double crochet 2 together in given stitches / chsp
dc3tog – double crochet 3 together in given stitches / chsp
fpdc – front post double crochet. To make a front post stitch, you’ll insert your hook from the front to back and work around the post of the stitch. Complete the stitch as normal.
bpdc – back post double crochet. To make a backpost stitch, you’ll insert your hook from the back to front and work around the post of the stitch. Complete the stitch as normal.
Dtr – double triple crochet
Fpsc – front post single crochet (any time you feel stuck on one stitch please check with youtube tutorials about that specific stitch)
Popcorn – 5 complete dc in same stitch, remove hook (leave a longer loop), insert in top of first dc, grab the loop from the 5th dc and pull through, CH 1 .
Beginning Popcorn – Ch 3 (counts as dc), make 4 more dc in same stitch, drop loop from hook and insert hook from front to back through top of ch-3 then into dropped loop, yarn over and pull through two loops on hook.
Picot - Create three chain stitches from the point in your row where you want to add the picot stitch. Insert your hook in the third chain from the hook. Yarn over (yo) and draw the yarn through the stitch and through the loop on the hook.
*-* - repeat around

is worked in continuous rounds, DO NOT turn at the end of a round.
Close
each round with a sl st to the first st, or an invisible join.

Instructions
Make a magic.ring with a color of your choice
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 23 dc in the
ring, pull the thread end to tighten the ring, join with sl st in 3rd ch of
first ch3.
Round 2: Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch-3 sp), *
skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 3; repeat from * around, join with sl st in 3rd
ch of first ch 6.
Round 3: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 3 (counts
as dc), 3 dc in same sp, ch 1, * 4 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1; repeat from *
around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of first ch3.
Round 4: Join the second color in any ch-1
sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 4, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 4; repeat from *
around, join with sl st in first sc.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same sc, * ch 1, in next
ch-4 sp work (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc), ch 1, sc in next sc; repeat from * around
omitting the very last sc, join with sl st in first sc.
Round 6: Ch 1, sc in same sc, * ch 2, in next
ch-3 sp work (3 dc, ch 3 and sl st in 3rd ch from the hook, 3 dc), ch 2, sc in
next sc; repeat from * around omitting the very last sc, join with sl st in
first sc.
Round 7: FPDC around each post and
picotstitcc the oicpt from prev. Roung together.
Round 8: *sc in any picot, ch 10, sc in picot*
repeat around
Round 9: 10 dc in ch 10 sp, ch 1, 10 dc in
next space, repeat around
Round 10: *1tr3tog, 3ch, 1tr3tog, 3ch,
1tr3tog, 3ch, 1tr3tog, 3ch (1 fan) in ch 1 sp, ch 3, 1 fan in next ch-1-sp.
Close with 1st closing chain of the first tr3tog.
Round 11: sc in ch-3-sp between any fan, 4 dc
in each of the fan’s chain spaces, sc in ch-3-sp, repeat around
Round 12: sc in any sc from prev round, FPDC
in each of next 6 dc, ch 3, FPDCin next 6 dc sts, s in sc.
Round 13: make 2 sc in ch-3-sp, then make *sc,sc,hdc,hdc,dc,dc,trc,dc,dc,hdc,hdc,sc,sc*
until you reach the ch-3-sp again, repat round.
Round 14: make a standing dc in any st from
prev round, make 1 more dc in same space, *ch 2, make 2 dc cluster stitch in
same st. *skip 3 stitches, 2 dc cluster st, ch2, 2 dc cluster st in next st.
Repeat from this sequence until the end.
Round 15: Make 5dc-popcorn st in ch-2 sp, ch
4, popcorn in next ch-2 sp and repeat until the end.
Round 16:
Standing sc into eye of any popcorn, [3 dcs around ch4 sp of rnd 15 AND
sp between dc-clusters of round 14, sc in eye of next popcorn] repeat this
sequence until the end of the round. Sl st to beg st.
Round 17: ch 5, sk 2 st, sc in 3rd st, ch 5,
skip 2 st, sc. Repeat the same sequence around
Round 18: sl st in ch-space, sc in same
ch-space, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-5-space), sc in next space, (3 dc, ch 3,
3 dc) in next space, repeat around
Round
19:
in ch 3 space between 3-dc-clusters make (5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc), and the same in
next ch-3 sp and all around .
Fasten off and weave in all ends (I burn the ends with
a lighter)
