Muzzle with Lighter Color
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 2sc in each st (12)
sl st next st and f/o leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew in the nose before sewing muzzle to the face. Some people like to sew the muzzle on before they stuff the head but I sew mine in after the head is stuffed and sewn to the body. It's all preference and what you find easier.

HEAD with Main Color
Remember if you use safety eyes to put them in before closing up the head. I placed the eyes in between the 10th and 11th row and they have about 8st between them. I put the eyes in place when I finished the 15th row. Make sure you are happy with placements before securing them in place.
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)

f/o leaving a long tail for sewing

Body start with Lighter Color
take a look at the photos and see how the body is positioned  under the head. It will be the starting magic circle that will be the front used as the belly button so make sure to take care when finishing off the last rows of the body as neatly as you can and after you stuff the body take care not to pull the stuffing through that last couple rows when closing the gap as that will show on the back of the Fox.
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 2sc in each st (12)

20) 1sc in next 2st then 2tog (18)
stuff the body
21) 1sc then 2tog (12)
22) 2tog 6 times
Add more stuffing if needed. Use a stuffing stick or the back end of a pencil
f/o leaving a long tail for sewing. Using a yarn needle, weave the yarn tail in and out through those last 6 st then pull the yarn tail until the gap closes, knot off the yarn tail then hide inside the body
Legs start with black
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 2sc in each st (12)
3) 1sc in each switch to main color on last st
4) sl st first st, 1sc in next 11st
5-11) 1sc for 7 rows
f/o leaving a long tail for sewing. fold flat, do not stuff . Sew under the body. Take your time to position and sew on neatly, the legs are as wide as the body when placed side by side. You could pin them in place before sewing to make sure you are happy with the placement before sewing them in place.

Arms start with black
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 2sc in each st (12)
3) 1sc in each st switch to main color on last st
4) sl st first st, 1sc in next 11st (12)
5) 1sc in each st
6) 1sc then 2tog (8)
7-13) 1sc in each st for 7 rows
f/o leaving a long tail for sewing. stuff hand, do not stuff arms. Sew just under the head
Ears start with black if you are a beginner you might find it difficult to switch colors on such a small round. If so just use orange for ears, they will look just as great!
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 1sc in each switching colors on last st
3) sl st first st then 1sc in the same st, 2sc in next 5st (12)
4) 1sc in each st
5) 1sc in next 3st then 2sc in next st (15)
6-7) 1sc in each st for 2 rows
sl st the next st and f/o leaving a long tail for sewing. pin the ears in place before sewing to make sure you are happy with the placement. Some people like to sew the ears on before they stuff the head. You could do this too. I like sewing the ears on after the head is stuffed and sewn to the body but that is just personal preference.

Tail start with Lighter Color
1) magic circle with 6sc (6)
2) 1sc then 2sc in next st (9)
3) 1sc in next 2st then 2sc in next st (12)
4) 1sc in each st
5) 1sc in next 3st then 2sc in next st (15)
6) 1sc in next 4st then 2sc in next st (18)

9) 1sc in next 6st then 2sc in next st (24)
10) 1sc in each switch to main color on last st
11) sl st first st, 1sc in next 23st (24)
12) 1sc in each st
13) 1sc in next 4st then 2tog (20)
14) 1sc in each st
15) 1sc in next 3st then 2tog (16)
16) 1sc in next 2st then 2tog (12) stuff tail
17-18) 1sc for 2 rows
19) 1sc then 2tog (8) * stuff some more
20-27) 1sc in each st for 8 rows. After the 8 rows you might decide the tail is too long, if so just remove about 5 rows. I wanted it this long so I could swing the tail towards the front and that way I got good photos of the fox and his tail. A shorter tail would be just fine too!
Use a stuffing stick or the back end of a pencil and lightly stuff the remainder of the tail
sl st next st and f/o leaving a long tail for sewing.

When you are crocheting for your pet, you need to consider especially his/her comfort in first place. So think of this sweater pattern as a stitch pattern, this is only an example of how it fits and looks on my dog. It is made by using front post double crochet and back post double crochet techniques. Therefore I can say it is a very easy pattern and just adjust your measurements according to your pet's sizes.
