This pretty crochet granny square is named after my mom. Her name (Müge) is translated to English as Lilly of the Valley. To crochet this square, you will need five different colors.It does not only look stunning but is deceivingly easy to work up. Note that you do not have to use the colors I did and if you want a larger square just choose a thicker hook and yarn. Beginning popcorn: Ch 3, make 4 more dc in same st, drop loop from hook, insert hook from from to back through top of ch3 then in to dropped loop.yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook.
Popcorn stitch: Make 5 dc in 1 st, , drop loop from hook, insert hook from from to back through top of ch3 then in to dropped loop.yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook.
Note: Do not completely cinch the center of the ring until you finish the 2nd round; it must be left open to accomodate the shape of the motif.
Begin with a magic ring
with orange color yarn
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join with a sl st to first sc (8 sc)
with pink color yarn
Rnd 2: Beginning popcorn ch 2, *popcorn in next sc, ch 2, repeat from * 6 more times, join with a sl st to top of first popcorn, change color
with green color yarn
Rnd 3: Ch 1 sc in same space, ch 3, sc in next ch2 space, ch 3, repeat from * 6 more times, join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, dc 4 in to same space, ch 1, 4 dc in next ch3 space. repeat until the end.
with red color yarn
Rnd 5: attach yarn to any ch1 sp.BLO sc in same space. sc 1 in each of the nect 4 dc sts. 1 sc in ch1 sp and repeat until the rest of the round, sl st to 1st sc to join.
attach navy blue color to any sc in ch1 sp
Rnd 6: sc in same st, ch 6, skip 4 st, sc in sc. repeat until end.
Rnd 7: sl st. into next ch6 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 4dc into that same ch5 space, ch2, 5dc into that same ch5 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch6 space, ch1,
((5dc, ch2, 5dc) into next ch6 space, ch1, 1sc into next ch6 space, ch1)* repeat around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
with orange
Rnd 8: attach yarn in any sc that comes after ch1 sp. ch 3, make a 2 dc cluster in same st. ch 1,1 dc in each of the next 5 dc from the previous round, ch 1, (2 dc ch 2, 2 dc) on the corner, ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc from the previous round, repeat the same sequence around. sl st on top of the ch 2 at the beginning.
With pink color yarn
Rnd 9: attach yarn to a ch1 sp before the cluster st. sc in same sp. ch 4, sc in next ch 1 sp after the cluster st. ch 3, skip 2 dc st, sc in 3rd st, ch 3, skip 2 st, sc in next ch 1, ch 3 sc in corner space, ch 3 sc in same corner sp. ch 3, skip 2 st, sc, ch 3, sk 2 st, sc,ch 4 skip cluster sc in ch1 sp and repeat around until the end. Ch 1, join by a dc on top of the first sc.
Rnd 10: sc in same ch 3 sp, 7 dc in next ch4 sp, sc in next ch3 sp, 3 dc in next.1 sc in nexh sp, in the cornet ch3 sp make (1 dc, ch3 picot,1 dc ch3 picot,1 dc ch3 picot, 1 dc ch3 picot,1 dc) scin next sp. repeat this sequence 3 more times, sl st to join in 1st sc.
