Here is a scrap busting brooch pattern for you. This little vibrant flower brooch is a quick make for a last minute present for your loved ones. You can also use this motif as a part of a necklace. It uses 4 different colours of yarn and sure would look great in pastels too.

Popcorn stitch: Make 5 dc in 1 st, , drop loop from hook, insert hook from from to back through top of ch3 then in to dropped loop.yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook.
Note: Do not completely cinch the center of the ring until you finish the 2nd round; it must be left open to accomodate the shape of the motif.
Begin with a magic ring
with yellow color yarn
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join with a sl st to first sc (8 sc)
with pink color yarn
Rnd 2: Beginning popcorn ch 2, *popcorn in next sc, ch 2, repeat from * 6 more times, join with a sl st to top of first popcorn, change color
with green color yarn
Rnd 3: Ch 1 sc in same space, ch 3, sc in next ch2 space, ch 3, repeat from * 6 more times, join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 2, dc 4 in to same space, ch 1, 4 dc in next ch3 space. repeat until the end.
with red color yarn
Rnd 5: attach yarn to any ch1 sp. BLO sc in same space. sc 1 in each of the nect 4 dc sts. 1 sc in ch1 sp and repeat until the rest of the round, sl st to 1st sc to join.
