I know there is a ton of starfish patterns but you wouldn't want to miss out on this pretty one.
For this applique I used a size 1.5 mm hook, and two colors of light fingering yarn. You can use various colors that complement eachother such as orange and yellow, purple and pink, gray and White. In the pattern I name it as a darker shade and a lighter shade of the same color palette.

With a dark shade of color yarn ch 4, and join with sl st in first ch.
Rnd 1: ch 1 (counts as sc). [ch 2, sc] 4 times in ring. ch 2, and join with sl st in initial ch 1.
Rnd 2: sl st in ch 2 point, and ch 1 (counts as sc). *ch 11. Starting in 4th ch from hook and working back down chain, sc in 8 ch. Back on ring, sc in same ch 2 point. ch 1.** sc in next ch 2 point. Repeat from * 3 times, and from * to ** once more. Join with sl st in initial ch 1.
Rnd 3: sl st in 1 ch. Using color B, sl st in 1 ch, and ch 2 (counts as hdc). Continue a lighter shade of color. hdc in 5 ch. *2 sc in 1 ch. sc, ch 3, sc] in ch 3 point. 2 sc in 1 sc. hdc in 6 sc. Skip 2 sc, and dc in ch 1 space.** Skip SC, skip 1 ch, and hdc in 6 sc. Repeat from * 3 times, and from * to ** once more. Join with sl st in top of initial ch 2.
Now you just made a gracious starfish applique.
Fasten off; weave in ends.
