Turn any dish towel into a simple, darling kid-sized apron for your little kitchen helper!
(🙋I have some of my patterns (mandala, doily, purse, square) on sale, starting from $1, on my Etsy shop Berayla. If you would like to show your support here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Berayla I thank you in advance and I God bless you)
For this project you will need
A dish towel (cotton or linen will work best) and a little bit of sewing knowledge.
Orange yarn,
Green yarn,
Yellow
tapestry needle,
size 4 mm hook
Snaps
Divide the short side of your towel into thirds, then cut two curves out of the sides of your towel.
don't forget to leave 1-2 inches to sew. Fold the edges over, pin, trim, iron over to create a clean crease and sew.
Strap
Ensuring that you make enough rows for your childs head to fit through, and enough hanging off the edges so that you can tie it around their waist.
With orange color yarn
R 1: Chain 9, dc into the 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in each stitch until the end. (7 dc)
R 2: Ch 2, Dc into same st, and to the end (7 dc)
Repeat R 2 for as many rows as you need for your kids measurements. Mine is 60 rows for the neck part.
Finishing: Sc around the strap evenly.
Sew this part to the dish towel as a neck strap. I also sew a big snap on here because after putting it on, it was a little bit too long for my daughter.
Use this same pattern for the straps on the sides to tie. Sew them on. I put snaps here also.
