I made this as a house warming gift to my mother. And she absolutely loves it because of the flowers it has. In this pattern, I first attached the motifs together as seen in the pictures and then crocheted a smaller motif (until round 5) for the empty spaces. You can work with the motif how ever you like. İt would turn out great as a round doily also.
You may use any kind of yarn and hook for this project. I used a size 1.5 mm hook and a light fingering yarn according to that hook.

Begin with a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as a DC and Ch-1). *DC in ring, CH 1; repeat from * 5 times, DC in ring, join with HDC to 3rd ch of ch-4. (8 DC)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in space made by joining HDC, *Ch 5, SC in next ch-1 space; repeat from * 6 more times, Ch 2, join with a DC to 1st sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 4, sc in space made by joining DC, * ch 5, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next Ch-5 space; rpeat from *6 more times, ch 2, join with dc to 1st chain of beg ch-4.
Rnd 4: Ch 4, sc in space made by joining dc, *ch 7, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-5 space; repeat from *6 more times, ch 3, join with TR to first chain of beg ch-4.
Rnd 5: Ch 4, sc in space made by joining tr, *ch 9, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-7 space; repeat from *6 more times, ch 4, join with DTR to first chain of beg ch-4.
Rnd 6: Ch 4, 5 sc in space made by joining dtr, *ch 5, (5 sc, ch 3,5 sc) in next ch-9 space; repeat from *6 more times, ch 5, 5 sc in last space, join with a slip st to first chain of beg ch-4. Fasten off.
Flower
You need two colors.
Center:
Using one of the colors you pick xh 4 and join with a ss in 1st ch.
Rnd 1: Ch 1 (counts as a sc). 7 sc in ring; join with sl st in initial ch 1.
Rnd 2: Ch 1 (counts as a sc). sc in same ch as last sl st. 2 sc in each of the 7 remaining sc. Usint the other color join with a sl st in initial ch 1.
Petals
Rnd 3: Ch 5, ( 3 tr, ch 5, sl st) in same ch as last sl st. * ch 5, skip 3 sc. ( sl st, ch 5, 3 tr, ch 5, sl st) in 1 sc. Repeat from * twice. ch 5. join with a sl st in sl st.
Rnd 4: sl st in ch 5 space. ch 1 (counts as a sc). ( 3 sc, hdc) in same ch 5 space. *dc in one tr. (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in 1 tr. dc in one tr. (hdc, 4 sc) in ch 5 space.sl st in next ch-5 space. 4 sc in next ch-5 space. HDC in 1 tr. (dc, ch 2, dc) in one tr. HDC in 1 TR. 4 sc in ch-5 space. l st in next ch 5 space. ** (4 sc, hdc, in next ch 5 space. Repeat from * to ** once. Join with a sl st in initial ch 1. Fasten off, weave in all ends.
I ironed it, you may starch it. All looks fine to me..
